In August, Polina and Denis came to Varenna on Lake Como for their after-wedding photo session in Italy. Founded in the 11th century by fishermen, Varenna later became a fortified town under the Milanese and today it’s a captivating mix of ancient architecture and serene lake views, perfect for capturing the magic of a wedding experience in Italy.
Their session began in the winding streets of Varenna, lined with colorful, centuries-old facades in warm shades of terracotta. Even in August, with the town bustling with visitors, their photographer’s skill ensured Polina and Denis’s photos looked timeless and intimate as if they had Varenna to themselves. They walked past the iconic Church of San Giorgio, a Romanesque treasure built in the 1300s, with its Gothic frescoes and majestic bell tower.
Down by the lake Polina and Denis found quieter spots along the Passeggiata degli Innamorati (Lovers’ Walk), with the Alps rising behind them. Here, in a place where local fishermen once gathered, their photographer captured intimate moments by the water’s edge with boats gently swaying in the background. The serene lake mirrored the couple’s joy blending Italy’s natural and historical allure in each shot.
